Pneumatic Conveying System Market to Reach $30B by 2025
September 12, 2017
A new report by Felton, CA-based Hexa Research posits that the global market for pneumatic conveying systems will reach a value of $30.4 billion by 2025 as advancements in technology fuel sales in the food processing and pharmaceutical industries.
“The global market for pneumatic conveying systems is expected to gain momentum owing to the expansion of manufacturing industries such as in food and pharmaceutical industry and usage of automation to produce efficiently and effectively. Integration of mechanization in pneumatic conveyors and innovation in product feeding and receiving technologies are expected to drive the growth,” Hexa researchers wrote.
In 2016, the global market for pneumatic conveying systems was worth $22.11 billion, according to the market research firm’s estimates. The dilute phase conveying systems segment are expected to grow by a CAGR of 6.2%, owing to its use in a wide array of applications.
While Europe held the largest market share in 2016 at $6.5 billion, the Asia-Pacific region is projected to display the fastest growth during the forecast period with a 6.6% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Researchers said Europe’s market should be bolstered through 2025 by Brexit, instability in Ukraine, and an economic slowdown in China.
Researchers suggested that another driver behind the market’s growth will be increased safety regulations in emerging economies.
“The growth of the industry is expected to be driven by stringent government regulations regarding health and safety of employees in developing countries. As manual material handling has been the main cause of injuries especially in chemical and pharmaceutical industries, it has been made mandatory to use pneumatic conveyors for maintaining safety at the workplace,” the market research firm said.
Food processing is projected to dominate end use of pneumatic conveying systems through the end of the period.
Key equipment makers and vendors identified by Hexa were Schenck Process Holding GmbH, Cyclonaire Corporation, KC Green Holdings, Hillenbrand Inc., and DongYang P&F.
