Lubrizol LifeSciences company Particle Sciences recently named Karen Bossert as its new vice president of operations as part of its effort to expand and strengthen its production capabilities, the firm announced in a press release Tuesday.

In her new role, Bossert will work on developing and expanding Particle Sciences’ clinical trial and drug manufacturing services and drug development operations at the company’s newly-launched 5000-sq-ft drug product manufacturing facility in Bethlehem, PA.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Karen on board at this exciting time for our business as our new commercial facility becomes fully operational, driving growth in our commercial manufacturing capabilities, as well as expanding our offering in the clinical trial manufacturing space,” Particle Sciences General Manager Barbara Morgan said in a statement.

She previously worked as vice president for Lyophilization Technology Inc., quality assurance and operations director at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and commercial manufacturing manager for Smithkline Beecham Pharmaceuticals.

“Karen will oversee the operations of the engineering team and the clinical trial and commercial manufacturing groups. With her vast industry experience, she will be key to bringing the same standard of excellence associated with our complex formulation development work into our commercial drug product manufacturing offering,” Morgan said.

Particle Sciences’ Bethlehem facility accommodates the production of complex sterile and non-sterile finished drugs, like injectables and lyophilized drugs.
