Designed for the preparation of bulk material, the Ploughshare FKM 2000 batch mixer is a low-maintenance unit that features short mixing times, while achieving high mixing quality, as well as, high batch reproducibility. Various equipment options are available, depending on the mixing job. For example, the equipment is available with humidification and granulation devices. Even pumpable materials can be processed using this versatile machine. The batch mixer operates according to the process of the mechanically generated turbulent fluidized bed, established by Lödige. In the horizontal, cylindrical drum of mixer type FKM 2000, Ploughshare shovels arranged on a shaft rotate as the mixing elements. In this manner, the powdery, granular, or fibrous bulk materials are subjected to a three-dimensional movement and the entire product is constantly mixed quickly and accurately. During this process, the product is handled with extreme care because, due to the special shape of the tools, the material to be mixed is taken off of the drum wall in a radial movement and the destruction of the particles is effectively prevented. This ensures short mixing times by the mixer at the highest mixing quality and batch reproducibility.
