A & J Mixing has entered the biomass mixing market with its largest continuous mixer ever. The mixer is capable of 24,000 cu ft/hr. It mixes biomass with an enzyme for the extraction of oil. The Phlauer continuous mixer offers complete forward and backward flow. It works on the flood feed principle and will discharge at the rate it is fed. Average dwell time is one minute at maximum capacity, and it has the ability to mix accurately at this rate. The advantage of the short dwell is high production from smaller machines. For example, if the dwell was five minutes, the machine is five times bigger with all the associated support and maintenance cost.
