Conditioning Mixer Handles Filter Cake

AVA recently delivered a continuous conditioning mixer for installation at a mine in Turkey for filter cake and additives. The task is the production of a mining back fill material, which will be pumped with a solid pump inside the mine.

The main product is an extracted filter cake, a residue product from the gold mine that should be mixed with cement and water. The whole machine is executed in a robust, heavy-duty design, as the environmental conditions are harsh and product very abrasive.

The challenge was to get a fine and pasty slurry without any inclusion of air bubbles. This was realized with four additional choppers, which increase the mixing efficiency and digest the mixture totally.

Tests were conducted in AVA’s lab to prove the efficiency of the technology before the order was placed.
