Crews from several area fire departments responded to a blaze in a dust collector at the Keywell Corp. metal processing plant in Falconer, NY on Wednesday, the Jamestown Post-Journal reported.

After personnel from the Falconer Fire Department were called to the scene at about 2:15 p.m., firefighters called for backup from two nearby towns, according to the newspaper’s account.

Falconer Fire Chief Charles Piazza told the Post-Journal that the fire was put out quickly and that no injuries were logged during the incident. The building was mostly undamaged.

Another dust collector fire occurred at Keywell’s Falconer facility in December 2018, Powder & Bulk Solids reported. Officials said they heard an explosion at the site before the fire started. No injuries were reported in that incident.
