Conveyor Systems Maker QC Industries Bought by Duravant

Process equipment manufacturer Duravant is expanding its portfolio of in-process conveying products with the acquisition of Cincinnati, OH-based conveyor systems maker QC Industries, the Downers Grove, IL firm announced in a press release Thursday.

“QC Industries has done an incredible job of establishing itself as an innovative leader of manufactured conveyors and is extremely well-respected in the marketplace. We look forward to supporting QC Industries’ focus on developing long-term relationships with its existing customers, while connecting them to new customers through our other operating companies,” said Mike Kachmer, Duravant’s chief executive officer, in a statement.

Founded over three decades ago, QC Industries offers a variety of belt conveyor systems in three categories – automation, industrial, and sanitary – that can be integrated into assembly or packaging lines, marking or coding equipment, and semi or fully automated robotic systems. Their conveying solutions are used in a range of end user industries, including food processing, metal working, packaging, materials handling, and plastics.

The newly acquired firm also has an online guide to help customers select and design conveying systems based on their individual needs, that features a simplified quoting process and configuration system, the Duravant release said.

“Our partnership with QC Industries extends our overall solutions offering across our processing, packaging, and material handling sectors,” said Kachmer. “Duravant has experienced tremendous growth in recent years by developing an evolving set of value-added solutions for our customers. QC Industries will certainly accelerate our efforts.”

Duravant purchased digital sorting, inspection, conveying, and processing equipment manufacturer Key Technology Inc. in January 2018, Powder & Bulk Solids reported. In November 2016, the firm acquired the packaging machinery maker Arpac. Packaging equipment company Hamer LLC was bought by Duravant in 2015.
