Conveyor Equipment Orders Soar for Second Consecutive Month

55.4% jump in September follows 31.53% increase in August

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its September 2022 booked orders decreased by 45.41% when compared to September 2021, but increased 55.4% compared to August 2022. August 2022 booked orders had increased 31.53% compared to July 2022.

September 2022 booked orders for Bulk Handling Equipment increased 23.5% compared to August 2022. September 2022 booked orders for Unit Handling Equipment increased 70.98% when compared to August 2022.

CEMA’s September 2022 billed sales (shipments) decreased by 26.16% compared to September 2021. September 2022 billed sales decreased 15.4% compared to August 2022. This contrasts with the August 2022 increase of 13.85% when compared to July 2022.

September 2022 billed sales for Bulk Handling Equipment increased 0.47% when compared to August 2022. The Bulk Handling increase follows a 17.41% increase for August 2022 vs. July 2022. September 2022 billed sales for Unit Handling Equipment decreased 19.38% when compared to August 2022. The billed sales for Unit Handling’s decrease compares to an increase of 12.99% for last month (August 2022) vs. July 2022.
