Conveying Equipment Orders up 8% in December

Increase follows 24% increase in November

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reports that its December 2021 booked orders increased by 8.08% when compared to December 2020. December 2021 booked orders increased by 8.24% compared to November 2021. November booked orders had increased 24.42% compared to October 2021. 

December 2021 booked orders for Bulk Handling Equipment decreased 0.99% compared to November 2021. December 2021 booked orders for Unit Handling Equipment increased 11.1% when compared to October 2021. 

CEMA’s December 2021 billed sales (shipments) increased by 26.99% compared to December 2020 and 9.37% compared to November 2021 billed sales. This contrasts with the November 2021 increase of 0.37% when compared to October 2021. 

December 2021 billed sales for Bulk Handling Equipment decreased 6.95% when compared to November 2021. The Bulk Handling increase follows a 0.96% increase for November 2021 vs. October 2021. November 2021 billed sales for Unit Handling Equipment increased 13.05% when compared to November 2021. The billed sales for Unit Handling’s increase compares to an increase of 0.24% for last month (November 2021) vs. October 2021.
