Conveying Equipment Orders Drop in October

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its October 2022 booked orders decreased by 26.45% when compared to October 2021 and 46.28% compared to September 2022. September 2022 booked orders had increased 55.4% compared to August 2022.

October 2022 booked orders for bulk handling equipment decreased 28.4% compared to September 2022. October 2022 booked orders for unit handling equipment decreased 52.58% when compared to September 2022.

CEMA’s October 2022 billed sales (shipments) decreased by 21.46% compared to October 2021 and 2.44% compared to September 2022. This contrasts with the September 2022 decrease of 15.4% when compared to August 2022.

October 2022 billed sales for bulk handling equipment decreased 1.7% when compared to September 2022. The bulk handling decrease follows a 0.47% increase for September 2022 vs. August 2022.  October 2022 billed sales for unit handling equipment decreased 2.67% when compared to September 2022. The billed sales for unit handling’s decrease compares to a decrease of 19.38% for last month (September 2022) vs. August 2022.
