Conveying Equipment Orders Drop in January

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its January 2019 booked orders decreased 22.8% when compared to January 2018. When compared to December 2018, January booked orders were down 26.7%.

January booked orders were up 2.3% for Bulk Handling Equipment and down 38.1% for Unit Handling Equipment when compared to December.

CEMA’s January 2019 billed sales (shipments) increased by 13.3% when compared to January 2018 sales. When compared to December 2018, January billed sales were down 10.4%.

January billed sales were up 2.7% for Bulk Handling Equipment and down 14% for Unit Handling Equipment when compared to December.
