The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its September 2010 Booked Orders Index was 162, up 34 points or 27% from August 2010’s Index of 128 (1990 = 100). The September 2010 Index represents an increase of 38% from the September 2009 Index of 117.
September Booked Orders Indexes were 219 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 145 for Unit Handling Equipment* (1990 = 100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Booked Orders was 127 in September, an increase of 3% from August 2010’s Twelve-Month Index of 123.
The CEMA Billed Sales (shipments) Index was 143 in September, a decrease of 12% from August 2010’s Index of 163. The September 2010 Index represents an increase of 31% from the September 2009 Index of 109.
September Billed Sales Indexes were 231 for Bulk Handling Equipment* and 125 for Unit Handling Equipment*(1990=100).
The Twelve-Month Index for Billed Sales was 121 in September, an increase of 3% from August 2010’s Twelve-Month Index of 118.
* Since Bulk Handling Systems booked and billed sales are reported quarterly and are averaged back to the two preceding months, the booked and billed indexes for non-quarter ending months for Bulk Handling Equipment and Category X, total of all categories, are adjusted quarterly.
