Gulf Coast Solids Handling & Processing

The Houston Material Handling Society (HMHS) will host the 10th Gulf Coast Solids Handling & Processing Show, April 3–4, at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, TX. The HMHS is a technical chapter of the South Texas Section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). More than 125 exhibitors will display solids-handling and -processing equipment and will be available to discuss specific applications to help users meet their bulk material–handling challenges. A technical seminar program will include 13 industry experts who will conduct dual-track seminars on Tuesday and Wednesday. Admission to the show and seminars is free, but attendees are encouraged to register online at www.gulfcoastsolids-show.com.

Booth 225 - The Vortex Quantum-series orifice gate utilizes precision laser cutting and stainless-steel bending technology. It features an all-stainless-steel weather-resistant design with good sealing performance, high durability, easy maintenance, and few parts. Versatile and well suited for many dry-material-handling applications, it can be employed to control, shut off, or meter the flow of nonabrasive to moderately abrasive powders, granules, and pellets.

Booth 423 - Company manufactures bulk material–handling systems and controls. Specializing in pneumatic conveying components and systems, the company offers vacuum, pressure, and vacuum/pressure technologies. CycloLok dust-reclaim dense-phase conveyors are suited for low-volume-transfer and harsh-environment applications. Simple to install and maintain, units use minimal high-pressure plant air and feature solid-state controls for reduced supervision. Self-contained turbo-inductor systems unload bulk materials from pneumatic trailers and railcars at high rates over long distances.

pbs0703p26c.jpgSplit-Frame Unloader
Booth 103 - The Split Frame unloader discharges bulk bags and rigid totes from mezzanines and other low-headroom areas. Unlike fixed-frame unloaders that require sufficient headroom above the top of the frame to clear the load backrest of a forklift, this unloader allows the upper frame to be forklifted onto the plant floor, loaded with a bulk bag, and then forklifted back onto the subframe within several inches of the ceiling. For discharging from bulk bags, the subframe is equipped with a Power-Cincher flow control valve that cinches the bag spout concentrically on a horizontal axis for easy tie-offs and vertically in a tight zigzag pattern to prevent the leakage of fine powders. The USDA-accepted unloader also allows full-open discharge from bag spouts with all popular diameters.

Booth 506 - EM-series particulate emissions monitors, baghouse leak detectors, and process-flow monitors employ field-proven induction-sensing, protected-probe, and automatic self-check technologies to provide reliability and simple operation. Instruments are used in harsh applications, including chemical, coal, cement, steel, carbon black, smelter, kiln, and dryer processes. The units perform stack monitoring and emissions detection before emissions become visible. They eliminate cleanup costs, prevent the escape of valuable powders, and protect downstream equipment such as blowers and HEPA filters.
