Laser Particle-Size Analyzer
The Cilas 1190 is a seventh-generation laser particle-size analyzer designed with three lasers, which guarantees the highest accuracy possible and precision from 0.04 to 2500 µm. The unit features enhanced software functionality and increased automation for even the most challenging samples. The patented integrated liquid and dry dispersion technology allowsusers to switch between dispersion modes without having to switch hardware or realign the system. An integrated, high-resolution imaging system allows for the analysis of particle shape. All optical components are permanently fixed to a cast iron base plate, thereby ensuring the system is in alignment at all times. All analyzers are fully compliant with ISO 13320, 21 CFR Part 11, and USP <429>, and provide both accurate and reproducible results for the lifetime of the instrument.

Foreign Particle Detection
Malvern has added a new capability to its Morphologi G3 automated particle characterization system. The system now enables fully automated detection, enumeration, and size classification of foreign particulate matter (FPM) collected on a filter. Analysis of FPM on filters has traditionally been conducted by manual light microscopy. Now, the Morphologi G3 brings fully automated image analysis to accelerate characterization and remove any operator subjectivity. In addition to generating fast, reproducible results, the unit provides large amounts of information about each individual particle, thereby allowing for detailed investigation, troubleshooting, and process and quality control. Several different sample carriers are available for mounting prepared filters of different sizes onto the system. These allow two filters to be presented and analyzed successively with no manual intervention.

Particle-Size and -Count Analyzer
The Elzone II 5390 particle-size and -count analyzer determines the size, number, concentration, and mass of a wide variety of organic and inorganic materials. Unlike other measurement techniques, the electrical sensing zone method is capable of accurately sizing samples of varying optical properties, densities, colors, and shapes. The instrument determines particle size in a range suitable for a wide variety of industrial, biological, and geological specimens down to 0.4 µm. Extensive statistical analysis features are included.

Particle-Size Analyzer
The Gradex 3000 particle-size analyzer expands quality control programs by providing fully automatic sieve analysis for the gradation of aggregate material. The unit lowers costs by reducing the need for additional manpower and by reducing the amount of technician time required to perform testing. Ideal for classifying materials such as sand, gravel, or crushed stone, the patented, PC-controlled unit provides analysis and a complete data printout. Test and product quality are improved and operator error is virtually eliminated. The AutoFeed feature allows technicians to perform other work while up to six samples are tested automatically.
