Bindicator MP Series is a microwave, pulse radar that is used to determine the level of bulk solids in silos or tanks. Used in some of the tallest silos, the MP70 model has a measuring distance of up to 230 ft. Transmitting at a frequency of 26GHz with a narrow beam angle of eight degrees, the MP Series radar is consistent and accurate in dusty environments. It is able to ignore loose particles in the air and focus on actual material levels.

The MP Series Radar is a non-contact device that uses ‘time of flight’ to determine level in a vessel. The time it takes for an emitted microwave pulse to travel from the device to the material surface and back again is measured. This time is calculated into distance which is then translated into a level measurement.

Pulse radar is one of the latest technologies offered for sensing bulk material level. It is highly accurate in tough environments such as cement and fly-ash due to the existence of large amounts of dust that can be difficult for other technologies to penetrate and measure reliably.
