GEAPS Offers Flour Milling Quality Control Course

The Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) and the Kansas State University (K-State) Distance Education Program are offering an online course on quality control and quality assurance in the flour milling industry running from October 20 to December 3. 

GEAPS 630: Quality Control, Quality Assurance Practices in Flour Milling provides information on methods to quantitatively analyze both flour quality and mill performance. The tools introduced in this course will enable better and more efficient communication between the milling operative and the quality control/quality assurance department.

Lectures address:
-      Wheat classes and uses
-      Milling process and impact on quality
-      Flour quality analysis
-      Flour additives

This is one of six courses required for the Credential in Grain Processing Management.

Registration for the course closes on October 23. The cost is $700 for GEAPS members, $956 for non-members.
