September Conveying Equipment Orders up 96% YOY

Booked orders decreased by 2.57% when compared to September 2022.

The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported that its September 2023 booked orders decreased by 2.57% when compared to September 2022, but increased 96.6% compared to August 2023.

August 2023 booked orders had increased 8.23% compared to July 2023.

September 2023 booked orders for bulk handling equipment decreased 1.29% compared to August 2023. September 2023 booked orders for unit handling equipment increased 167.13% when compared to August 2023.

CEMA’s September 2023 billed sales (shipments) decreased by 8.36% compared to September 2022, and decreased 6.81% compared to August 2023. This contrasts with the August 2023 increase of 11.45% when compared to July 2023.

September 2023 billed sales for bulk handling equipment decreased 10.34% when compared to August 2023. The bulk handling decrease follows a 19.66% decrease for July 2023 vs. June 2023. September 2023 billed sales for unit handling equipment decreased 5.53% when compared to August 2023.
