Agriculture products manufacturer BRANDT is planning a “multi-million Real” investment to acquire and renovate a specialty formulations plant in Parana, Brazil. A recent company announcement said the transaction will quadruple its capacity in the country.

The 22,000-sq-m plant will contain several assembly lines, finished product storage areas, a QC lab, and an experimental station for research and development activities when the project reaches completion. BRANDT currently operates another production facility in the country in Olimpia.

“In Olimpia, we will focus on dry products, while the new plant will be the hub for other, more specialized products in our portfolio,” said Wladimir Chaga, president of BRANDT do Brazil, in a statement. “This important investment will allow the manufacturing, on Brazilian soil, of foliar fertilizers with American technology.”

About 100 new jobs will be created as the new facility opens. The facility is projected to become operational within the next two years. BRANDT estimates the Parana site will have a capacity of 20 million ltr/yr.

“Our goal is to move as much production for the Brazilian market to the local plants,” said Rick Brandt, CEO and president of BRANDT, in the release. “We are deeply committed to Brazil and our Brazilian customers. We aim to position ourselves for long-term growth and success in the country and across South America. This new plant will help us do that.”
