Massive Fire Rages at Concrete Plant in Florida

A massive fire erupted Monday morning at a concrete plant in west Miami-Dade, FL, according to Miami local news 10.

The fire was reported at 4:43 a.m. at the CEMEX plant near Sweetwater.

Officials said units arrived to find the structure of the eeady-mix concrete plant fully engulfed in flames.

News Sky 10 was above the scene as Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews were working to extinguish the flames.

Miami Police Department Homicide and Crime Scene Units, OSHA and Miami-Dade Medical Examiners Department were at the site as well.

According to fire rescue officials, 18 units responded to the scene, using hose lines and aerial trucks to battle the flames from the exterior of the affected building.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, crews remained at the plant, monitoring for hot spots.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
