Emergency personnel were sent to the Cargill Salt plant in St. Clair, MI last Wednesday after a fire broke out in a welding shed at the site, according to coverage by the Port Huron Times Herald. Four people were reportedly injured during the incident.

Crews responded to the fire around 2:30 p.m. and found flames in the welding shed upon arrival, fire officials told the newspaper. The shed was declared a total loss.

Four people were taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. A Cargill spokesperson said to the Times Herald that the four injured workers were contractors, and that the facility is continuing to operate.
