Explosion Injures 2 at Meat Packing Plant

Two workers were injured after an explosion at the Agri Star meat packing plant in Postville, IA Monday.

Two workers were injured after an explosion at the Agri Star meat packing plant in Postville, IA Monday.

According to police, the explosion happened at about 3 p.m. and was casued by a leak in a liquid propane cylinder.

The two injured workers were in the room when the explosion occurred. One had facial burns; the other had chest pains. Both were taken to a local hospital.

At least part of the plant was operational after the explosion.
