Crews responded to the Summitville Feed and Grain elevator in Manchester, TN last Tuesday (August 18) after a blaze ignited in a conveying system at the facility, The Manchester Times reported.

Manchester Fire Department Chief George Chambers told the newspaper that a fire started in a belt used to transfer grain to the top of a silo during a welding operation. The official said damage was limited to the conveying equipment.

Summitville Feed and Grain, established in 1977, buys and stores grain, sells seed, provides bulk fertilizer and consumer lawn care products, retails livestock supplies, and offers other agricultural services.
