Container Explosion Reported at Cement Plant

A container explosion at a cement plant rocked part of El Paso, TX on Sunday.

The Jobe Materials cement plant in El Paso, TX was rocked by an explosion on Sunday morning that was felt across the western portion of the city, ABC News affiliate KVIA reported.

Fire officials told the television news station that the container blew up at about 8 am, but the structure was not damaged during the blast. No injuries were reported during the incident.

People throughout west El Paso felt the explosion, KVIA said. The incident is under investigation.

Jobe Materials is a supplier of ready mix concrete, construction aggregates, asphalt, precast/prestressed concrete, and other materials for construction and landscaping applications, according to information on its website. The company current operates three concrete plants near El Paso.
