One person died and at least 17 people were injured in an explosion at a chemical factory in Jalgaon, Maharashtra in India.

The entire factory caught fire after the explosion. More casualties are feared since some people are still reportedly trapped inside the factory, reported News 18 India.

In a similar incident, three workers sustained burn injuries in an explosion at a firecracker factory in a forest area of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district on Tuesday afternoon.

As per preliminary information, the explosion occurred when the workers were making ‘sutli’ bombs in a shed-like structure at the factory, about 5 km from Amba Chandan village, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umakant Choudhary said.

Earlier this month, four people died and 16 others were injured in an explosion allegedly caused by a fire in a chemical factory in Telangana’s Sangareddy.
