Green County Dispatch received a call just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday for a silo collapse just south of the Monroe, MA, according to the Green County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation found that the man was taking down the silo when it trapped him, reported local news sources.

The Green County Sheriff's Office says the man and some others were in the process of trying to remove the silo when part of it collapsed, killing the man. No one else was hurt.

Green County Chief Deputy Cody Kanable said the 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not identified at the time.

The sheriff's office is still investigating.
