A 70,000-sq-ft multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, NC is now operational, completing a three-and-a-half-year project to build what is said to be the largest mill of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, the site’s owner, Hemp Inc., announced on Wednesday.

“We will now begin marketing efforts in earnest. However, we have some huge, potential orders that we have been in discussion with lately including one very large company that wants to purchase the entire productive capacity of our mill’s capabilities including expanding to double or triple its current capacity,” a statement by Hemp Inc. Chief Executive Officer Bruce Perlowin said.

Run by Hemp Inc. subsidiary Industrial Hemp Manufacturing LLC, a NuAxon Tech CO2 Supercritical Extractor was recently installed at the facility and a support frame for a super sack is under construction.

Hemp Inc., a publicly traded company, has spent the past three years purchasing, refurbishing and reassembling equipment, and pilot testing processes.

“Profitability from Hemp Inc.’s mill has been a long time coming and I would like to thank our shareholders for their patience in this regard,” Perlowin said.
