Six people were injured Wednesday afternoon in an explosion at the Ilera Healthcare medical cannabis manufacturing and cultivation facility in Fulton, PA, local news organizations reported.

“All I know is the incinerator blew up inside the building itself, and there was no further damage to the inside of the building,” Darius Deshong of the Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co. told broadcaster WGAL.

Fox 43 said the blast occurred at about 1:30 p.m., drawing a response from first responders. The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has opened an investigation into the incident.

The injured persons were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

“TerrAscend was notified of an isolated incident involving a generator at our Fulton, PA manufacturing and cultivation facility. Six individuals sustained injuries and have received medical care,” Ilera Healthcare’s parent company, TerrAscend, said in a statement to CBS News affiliate WTAJ. “We are grateful to Fulton County’s first responders for arriving immediately at the scene to secure the building and prevent any operational disruptions.”
