American protein and packaged food products firm Tyson Foods is preparing to hire 200 additional staff members capacity at its Amherst, OH food processing plant after carrying out a $20 million project to expand production lines and capacity at the site, local news organizations reported.

The company revealed plans for the new hires at the Cooper Foster Park Road facility in an announcement Thursday, according to coverage by WKYC.

Increasing the site’s production capabilities and staff will help the company to meet increased demand for its products, the Chronicle-Telegram said. A company official told the newspaper that 525 people are currently employed at the plant.

The facility produces frozen ready-to-eat sandwiches and entrees, according to a document on the company’s website.

Earlier this month, Tyson announced that it wrapped up work on a $87.6 million expansion project at its Union City, TN plant. During that project, 40,000 sq ft of space was added to the site’s footprint and several new production lines were installed.
