Tyson Chicken Nuggets Recalled Due to Possible Metal Contamination

The poultry company said 30,000 lb. were being recalled.

Tyson Foods has recalled 30,000 lb. of fully cooked breaded chicken Fun Nuggets’ after consumers complained of finding metal fragments in the dinosaur-shaped food.

The nuggets, sold in 29-oz. bags, were produced on Sept. 5 by the Berryville, AR, company.

Tyson informed the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service and said it recalled the nuggets voluntarily “out of an abundance of caution.’' USDA said that there has been only one report of a ”minor oral injury associated with consumption of this product.’'

The nuggets subject to the recall havea Best If Used By date of SEP 04, 2024, and lot codes 2483BRV0207, 2483BRV0208, 2483BRV0209 and 2483BRV0210. The products were shipped to distributors in Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin to go to retailers.

The product subject to recall has establishment number “P-7211” located on the back on the package. 

The USDA urged consumers with the nuggets in their freezers to throw them out or return them to the place of purchase.
