Nevada-based Stellar Snacks is expanding with a 434,000-sq.-ft facility in Louisville, KY. The $137 million investment will be over 10 years.

The woman-owned company specializes in gourmet pretzels and includes flavors such as Simply Stellar, Bold & Herby, Maui Monk, and Sweet & Sparky.

"We're thrilled to announce our expansion into Louisville. As we set up shop in this vibrant city, we're embracing our commitment to quality, sustainability, community and a bit of French inspiration. With a new 434,000 square-foot facility, we're cooking up something extraordinary," the company said in a statement on its website.

Founder of Stellar Snacks, Elisabeth Galvin, said the company has set ambitious goals in setting up in west Louisville. In addition, she said the company is proud to be bringing opportunities to the area.

"We have set ambitious goals, and together we will achieve them," Galvin said. "This is my promise to you."

While the project was announced, it is contingent upon final approval of state incentives by the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority. This may include incentives such as support for rail access to the facility and per-job grants with added benefits for hiring residents who live in the nine neighborhoods in west Louisville.

Stellar Snacks will be taking over a 434,000-sq.-ft building in the Park Hill neighborhood of west Louisville for its bakery operations.

Jobs at the facility will include pretzel-making, production, engineering and maintenance, mechanics, technicians, receptionists, and human resources.

The company is expected to begin hiring in March 2024, though there will be a job fair on Dec. 16, 2023.
