Snack Maker Pretzels Inc. Picks Kansas Site for New Plant

Snack foods supplier Pretzels Inc. is looking to open a new 146,000-sq-ft production facility in Lawrence, KS, according to a report published Tuesday by The Lawrence Journal-World.

Local officials are currently examining documents filed with the city outlining the plans, the newspaper’s coverage said. If approved, the facility will be built in VenturePark in Lawrence.

Documents examined by the Journal-World show that about $24 million will be spent to open the site. No information was available on the amount of jobs the new Pretzel Inc. facility will create.

Pretzels Inc. manufactures filled, traditional and flavored pretzels and extruded snacks and provides contract manufacturing services. The company announced an expansion project at its Plymouth, IN snack production facility in May 2019, with plans calling for the addition of more than 120,000 sq ft of space for new production and packaging lines.
