Pretzels and snack products maker Pretzels Inc. announced plans Tuesday to expand its Plymouth, IN snack manufacturing facility that will expand the site’s production capacity for several products and add new capabilities, the company’s owner, private equity firm Peak Rock Capital, said in a press release.

“This expansion exemplifies Pretzels’ commitment to exceed our customers’ expectations by significantly enhancing our capabilities and capacity,” said Greg Pearson, the snack company’s chief executive officer, in a statement. “Pretzels’ management and employees are executing on several strategic growth initiatives, including this expansion, which will enable us to support our customers’ commercial success for years to come.”

The project involves adding more than 120,000 sq ft of space to the Plymouth plant that will accommodate new production and packaging lines and increase the efficiency of its existing footprint.

“Enhancing Pretzels’ manufacturing capabilities and capacity reflects our belief in the company’s strong growth prospects and is emblematic of how Peak Rock supports its businesses in achieving their growth objective,” Peak Rock Capital Managing Director Robert Strauss said in the release. “We are pleased with Pretzels’ progress to-date and look forward to finding additional ways to support its growth plan in the future.”

Work on the expansion project is slated to reach a conclusion in the second quarter of 2020.
