Post Holdings Names New Chief Operations Officer

Post Consumer Brands CEO Howard A. Friedman was selected for the consumer packaged goods holding company’s top role.

Post Holdings Inc. announced that the president and chief executive officer of its subsidiary Post Consumer Brands, Howard A. Friedman, was named its executive vice president and chief operations officer for the consumer packaged goods holding company.

In the new role, Friedman will join Post’s executive management team and report to the firm’s president and CEO Robert V. Vitale. He will work with all of the company’s businesses to increase collaboration, lower costs, and create new revenue opportunities. Friedman will also support the businesses’ process improvement, M&A targeting, and synergy evaluation and delivery efforts.

The incoming COO initially joined Post in 2018 after serving as executive vice president of the refrigerated meat and dairy business at The Kraft Heinz Company. During Friedman’s tenure at Kraft he occupied general management and sales and marketing roles, including a term a the head of the Walmart sales team.

In addition to Friedman’s appointment, Post also said that Nick Catoggio will take on the role of president and chief executive officer of Post Consumer Brands. The executive currently is managing director and senior partner at Boston Consulting Group. He started his career at Unilever and has worked as an advisor to Post Consumer Brands and Post Holdings over the last several years.

“I am looking forward to working with Howard in this new role as we seek to optimize our opportunities to leverage the scale of our businesses,” Vitale said in a release. “I am pleased to welcome Nico to our organization. He has deep strategic expertise and has worked with leading consumer products companies on state of the art demand generation.”

The new positions become effective in September 2021.
