Pet Food Manufacturing Plant Fire Leaves $200K in Damage

A blaze ignited in a commercial oven at the American Nutrition pet food production facility in Ogden, UT.

Firefighters were sent to the American Nutrition pet food plant in Ogden, UT in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a blaze started in a commercial oven at the site, several local news organizations reported.

Crews left for the scene at about 1:30 a.m. and arrived at the Wall Avenue facility to find flames on the first floor of the building near the oven and also on the roof, officials told the Gephardt Daily. 19 firefighters responded to the incident from two area fire departments.

The structure was evacuated during the incident and no injuries were logged, according to coverage by ABC News affiliate KTVX.

Salt Lake City-based Fox 13 reported that the incident caused an estimated $200,000 in damage.
