American beverages and snacks maker PepsiCo is moving forward on a $260 million project to expand its PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) plant in Tucker, GA, a release issued by the office of Georgia Gov. Brian P. Kemp announced Thursday.  The investment is expected to create a minimum of 136 new full-time jobs.

“This expansion will greatly increase PBNA’s production serving nearby Atlanta and the wider Georgia region to continue the growth of our business and the customers in the area,” PBNA Chief Supply Chain Officer Karen Jordan said in a statement. “We are proud to increase our footprint locally as a supplier, producer, and employer, bringing with us our gender equity and sustainability mission to create positive change.”

260,000 sq ft of space will be added to the location, enabling PepsiCo to increase production by five times its current rate by 2025. The Tucker plant will become one of the largest manufacturing facilities in the firm’s network when the project reaches completion.

PepsiCo announced an investment of $200 million in its Perry, GA Frito-Lay plant in July 2020. That effort created 240 new roles at the site.
