Oatly Selects Location for New North American Processing Plant

Oat beverage firm Oatly announced plans Wednesday for a new 280,000 manufacturing center in Fort Worth, TX that will produce the firm’s line of oatmilks for the North American market.

“We’re excited to break ground on this factory in Forth Worth, which we believe will allow us to meet the growing demand for Oatly’s products and grow our positive impact on the plant,” Mike Messersmith, president, North America for Oatly, said in a company release.

The location will be the firm’s largest production site in North America with a capacity of some 150 million lt/yr of oatmilk. Oatly operates two other manufacturing facilities in the region in Millville, NJ and Ogden, UT.

CNN reported in June that sales of oatmilk have skyrocketed by about 1200% during the past two years.

Oatly’s Fort Worth plant is slated to open its doors in 2023. About 100 new jobs will be created as a result of the investment.
