Nestlé USA Inc. will close its Sweet Earth Foods plant in Moss Landing, CA, resulting in the loss of 140 jobs.

The company said it will move production of all Sweet Earth Foods products to its facility in Solon, OH.

“Sweet Earth remains an important part of our foods portfolio as we continue to provide consumers with delicious food choices to meet their needs.”

Nestlé acquired Sweet Earth Foods, a manufacturer of plant-based foods, in September 2017 to get into that segment. Sweet Earth Foods was launched in 2011.
