McCormick Recalls 4 Seasoning Products for Potential Contamination
The company issued a voluntary recall after routine testing revealed the items possibly contain Salmonella.
Spices and seasonings supplier McCormick & Co. Inc. issued a voluntary recall this week for four seasoning products that are possibly contaminated with Salmonella. In a release posted to the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) website, the firm stated that it became aware of the potential risk “by FDA during routine testing.”
The company recalled four date codes of McCormick Perfect Pinch Italian Seasoning in 1.13 oz bottles, two date codes of McCormick Perfect Pinch Italian Seasoning in 2.25 oz bottles, one date code of McCormick Culinary Italian Seasoning in 1.75 lb bottles, and one date code of Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Ranch Seasoning in 153 g bottles.
Impacted products were shipped from June 20 through July 21 to locations in 32 states and Bermuda and Canada.
“McCormick has altered customers and grocery outlets to remove the product with the affected date codes from store shelves and distribution centers immediately, and to destroy this product in a manner that would prevent any further consumption,” the company wrote in the release.
No illnesses have been linked to the possible contamination.
