Poultry products supplier Koch Foods recently held an event to mark the start of operations at its new 130-acre grain storage and distribution site in Attalla, AL. The $60 million feed mill has a storage capacity of over 1 billion bu of corn.

“We announced this project in November of 2019, and to bring it to fruition on time during a pandemic speaks highly to the cooperation of all those involved – the Koch employees, the contractors, the state, the city, and all the local agencies,” Mark Kaminsky, the firm’s chief operating officer, said in a release.

The feed mill in Attalla will support Koch’s processing plant in Gadsen, AL, one of four processing complexes in the state. Koch has invested over $400 million in its Alabama operations over the past five years.

Plans for the Attalla project were first announced in 2019, Powder & Bulk Solids reported. The investment was expected to create 28 new jobs.
