Kellogg's Closing Plant, Laying Off 142 Workers

Kellanova has stated that it is closing the Eggo Plant in Rossville, TN, laying off 142 workers.

In a WARN Notice filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the company said layoffs are expected to begin June 1, 2024, with all separations complete by November 30, 2024. The total number of affected workers is 142.

Local News WREG 3 out of Memphis reported that Kellanova Media Relations said in an email that the Rossville plant was underutilized, and production will be moved to other frozen breakfast manufacturing locations.

“While this is the right thing to do for the business, it is never easy when people are losing jobs, and we are committed to assisting our employees with resources and support,” the company stated.

In February, Kellanova shared that it was closing two plants: a "frozen foods" plant in the US and another facility in Manchester, UK, likely in 2026. In its SEC report at the time, the food company stated that the European cereal supply chain network is proposed to be reorganized to drive efficiencies.
