There has been a steady 5-month increase for the food and beverage sector with 79 new projects for June.

There were 79 new food and beverage projects for June. It’s been a steady increase, with 76 in May, and 74 in April.

Of the new projects in June, 53 were processing facilities and 28 were distribution and industrial warehouse projects.

During the month of June, the IMI SalesLeads research team identified five new Food and Beverage facility construction projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more.

The largest is owned by Walmart, which is planning to invest $350 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on their distribution center in Cullman, AL. The company is currently seeking approval for the project.

Top 10 Tracked Food and Beverage Projects

KANSAS

Walmart is planning to invest $257 million for the construction of a 320,000-sq.-ft beef-packing plant in Olathe. The retail giant is currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in late 2023, with completion expected in 2025.
 

NEW YORK

FeedMore WNY food bank is investing $99 million for the construction of a 200,000-sq.-ft warehouse, food prep, and office facility in Hamburg. It is seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in spring 2024 and FeedMore WNY will relocate their operations upon completion.

Rosina Food Products Inc is planning to invest $16 million for a 12,000-sq.-ft expansion and equipment upgrades to its ravioli plant in West Seneca. The company is currently seeking approval for the project.


WASHINGTON

WinCo Foods is planning for the construction of a 1-million-sq.-ft distribution center on Anderson Rd. in Ellensburg. The grocery retailer is currently seeking approval for the project.
 

ALABAMA

A frozen food manufacturer is planning to invest $28 million for an expansion of its processing facility in Mobile. It has recently received approval for the project.
 

TEXAS

Treehouse Foods is planning for the renovation and equipment upgrades on its new-to-them 540,000-sq.-ft processing and distribution facility in Northlake. The company is now seeking approval for the project.
 

GEORGIA

A specialty ingredient manufacturer is planning for the construction of a 160,000-sq.-ft processing facility in Columbus. The company is currently seeking approval for the project.
 

KENTUCKY

Hydroponic farming company plans to invest $25 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on its processing facility in Florence. The company has recently received approval for the project.
 

MINNESOTA

A fresh produce grower is planning to invest $15 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on its processing facility in Morris. The grower has recently received approval for the project.
 

INDIANA

Dreyer's/ Edy's Ice Cream is planning to invest $13 million for the expansion of its processing and warehouse facility in Fort Wayne by 58,000 sq. ft. The company is currently seeking approval for the project.
