Fire Destroys Candy Manufacturing Firm’s Warehouse
Flames engulfed a Weaver Nut Co. warehouse in Pennsylvania Wednesday night, leaving the structure in ruins.
A large fire destroyed a Weaver Nut Co. Inc. warehouse near Ephrata, PA Wednesday evening, local news organizations reported.
About 25 fire departments were dispatched to the facility after the blaze was called in at about 6:30 p.m., television news station WFMZ said. Crews arrived on scene to find that flames had engulfed the structure.
“We regret to inform you that our production and distribution warehouse was lost due to a fire on Wednesday, August 4th. Our many thanks goes out to the firefighters for their effort and the community that’s been reaching out to help,” the company said in a post to its Facebook page. “We are thanking God that no one was hurt in the fire, all employees got out safely.”
Weaver Nut said it plans to find a temporary warehouse location to get “back in business as soon as possible.”
Officials told WGAL that an explosion may have preceded the fire. Firefighters remained at the location until about 5 a.m. Thursday.
