Tyson Foods-owned poultry meal plant in Hanceville, AL received significant damage during a fire that ignited at the site last Friday afternoon, local news organizations reported.

Crews were sent to the Valley River Ingredients facility after the fire was reported at about 12:35 p.m., The Cullman Times said. The flames created a large volume of smoke

As the response got underway, local firefighters called for assistance from 26 area fire departments, according to coverage by The Cullman Tribune. Officials told the newspaper that grease and animal by-products were apparently involved in the fire.

The town’s mayor, Kenneth Nail, said in an interview with CBS News affiliate WIAT that the fire resulted in “quite a bit of damage.” A plant manager told the station that no injuries have been logged.
