Emergency personnel responded to the J.R. Simplot Company grain storage site near Mountain Home, ID on Tuesday after an explosion occurred during maintenance work and a fire ignited, the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office said in a release Wednesday.

Called to the site at 4:55 p.m., first responders arrived on facility and evacuated the scene. Firefighters managed to contain and douse the flames.

“The Mountain Home Fire Department and Elmore County Sheriff’s Detectives determined the cause of the explosion was related to an industrial accident that occurred during normal maintenance operations,” the sheriff’s office said in a post to its Facebook page.

One person was injured during the incident and transported to a hospital, television news station KTVB reported.

J.R. Simplot’s Mountain Home facility handles whole and steam-flaked corn, according to information on the firm’s website.
