A blaze broke out in a potato chip frying machine last Friday at the Wise Foods snacks manufacturing plant in Berwick, PA, spreading flames to a piece of conveying equipment and the second floor of the structure, local news organizations reported.

Dispatched to the Rasely Street location around 8 p.m., firefighters observed a large fire on a conveyor belt upon arrival and determined the flames originated from the fire, an account by ABC News affiliate WNEP said. The building suffered water and smoke damage.

Smoke filled the building during the incident, prompting workers to evacuate, according to coverage by the Press Enterprise.

One person received oxygen from an EMS crew at the facility, detailed Fox News station WOLF.

Wise Foods produces potato chips, popcorn, onion rings, corn chips, tortilla chips, dips and salsa, and other snack products.
