European dog and cat food manufacturer United Petfood recently announced that it struck a deal to purchase the ‘la Braconne’ dry pet food plant in Mornac, France from Neodis Group. The company said the transaction will bolster its position as a private label pet food producer and expand its portfolio of products produced in-house.

“The acquisition of this pet food factory based in Mornac, near Angoulême, offers us new opportunities for growth and synergy in a fast moving market,” the firm’s Board of Directors said in a release.

Neodis’ facility started operations in 1976. About 50 people are currently employed at the site. The facility will be one of 20 pet food plants in Europe run by United Petfood.
