Bakery manufacturer and ingredients supplier Dawn Foods named former Utz Brands executive Melissa Bautista as its new vice president of manufacturing for North America this week. She will work to strengthen Dawn’s long-term production capabilities in the region and assist the company in meeting its business objectives.

“Melissa brings deep manufacturing experience to this role, having worked both at the plant management level and at the leadership level overseeing multiple facilities,” John Schmitz, president of Dawn Foods North America, said in a release. “Her approach to leadership and industry knowledge is a strong addition in our plant management teams across our five Dawn North America manufacturing locations.”

Bautista most recently served as vice president of manufacturing for snack maker Utz, where she led three manufacturing sites and four distribution centers. She previously worked as an area vice present of operations and as a plant manager at the firm’s Algona, WA facility. The executive also spent 11 years in a number of supply chain roles at Frito Lay.

The new vice president of manufacturing for North America will report to Schmitz.
