CP Kelco Invests $50M in New Citrus Fiber Production Line
The ingredients firm is expanding capacity for Nutrava brand citrus fiber at its Matão, Brazil manufacturing plant.

Ingredient maker CP Kelco plans to commit over $50 million to carry out an expansion project at its manufacturing site in Matão, Brazil to boost its capacity for Nutrava brand citrus fiber, a company release announced September 9.
A new production line will be installed at the facility will increase the location’s capacity to 5,000 mt of the ingredient. CP Kelco said the move will strengthen its ability to support customers in the food, beverage, and consumer products industries.
“We’re excited about reaching this important milestone in our journey with Nutrava citrus fiber, which originated as a proof-of-concept only four years ago,” Didier Viala, the firm’s president, said in a statement. “As a result of strong collaboration amongst our global team members and development partners since that time, our citrus fiber has evolved into a robust product line for use across a range of food and beverage applications, with a growing customer pipeline globally. We look forward to continuing to explore the possibilities with Nutrava citrus fiber in additional application segments.”
Nutrava citrus fiber is made from citrus peels that are a byproduct from the juicing industry. The products are used to improve flavor and texture in baked goods, fruit-flavored beverages, soups, dressings, and other foods.
The production line is expected to become operational in 2023.
