Worker Killed in Cement Plant Explosion

One worker was killed and three others injured Wednesday after an explosion at the Odisha Cement Ltd (OCL) factory in Rajgangpur, an industrial town in the Sundargarh District of Odisha, India.

 

Seven female workers emerged from the plant after the explosion occurred at about 4:30 pm. An eighth worker was later rescued, but in critical condition. She suffered severe burns and died on the way to the hospital.

 

According to reports, the workers were cleaning a blast furnace in the plant when the explosion took place.
