Two workers died after being trapped inside a grain storage tank at The Andersons facility in South Toledo, OH Friday morning.

Joshua Stone, 29, of Rossford, and James Heilman, 56, and a third man of Perrysburg were reportedly inside the storage tank breaking up compacted grain. The silo contained an estimated 180,000 bushels of grain.

Emergency crews responded at about 9 am.

“We are working closely with authorities to investigate the incident,” said Corey Jorgenson, president of assets and originations for The Andersons Trade Group. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of our two teammates.”

The Andersons has more than a dozen facilities in the Toledo area, with operations for the grain, ethanol, and rail industries.
